I just downloaded Augustus Loop, a looping AudioUnit by Expert Sleepers. After playing with it for about 5 minutes, I immediately clicked Register.
As the Expert Sleepers site suggests, if you don’t know what looping is, see Looper’s Delight. (I have encountered musicians I’ve played with in just about every era of my musical life on that mailing list...)
I like Augustus Loop because it’s got a very analog approach; when you change the delay time or reverse it, it varispeeds as if it were a tape speeding up or slowing down. My Electrix Repeater does digital time stretching instead, which is a cool effect too, but very very different.
