Just a tiny bit like Paul Bunyan ::

Lori and I stayed in the valley last night and came up to the woods this afternoon to discover we’d missed all of the excitement. A large oak across the street was dying and suddenly snapped and fell, bringing down power lines and damaging cars. Everyone was up until 2 am watching the tree demolition people, utility workers, firefighters, police, and towtruck. All we got to see was some yellow tape and a pile of branches.

Maybe inspired by that, we decided it was a fine afternoon to take the chainsaw to the dead limb of the oak tree in our neighbor’s yard, overhanging ours. I took off all of the small upper branches, but after just two or three large 100-plus-pound segments of the trunk in 90-degree heat, it was time for margaritas and dinner.
